Boy, I think 2008 went really fast for me. It was a great year (we got Baby Maira!) and I hope 2009 will be better.
I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. May 2009 be a prosperous year, with not much drama (heheh!), for everyone.
To my dear friend who just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl yesterday - congratulations. What a great way to end your year. Rest well sweetheart :)

Seasons Greetings!
I have suddenly caught the New Year spirit. Was indifferent before but now all I can think of is the jolly of year end and of New Year's resolutions. This is after spending a splendid day which started with yoga and ended with a most relaxing hair treatment by hubby's hairstylist (yup, my hubby has got a hairstylist, and me, I am still struggling to find meself one who can do wonders to my limp, and now dropping, permed hair).
Soooo... like many others, I have made some promises to myself. This year, I would like to list them down in black & white so that every quarter I can appraise myself.
My KPIs for 2009 will be:
- Wake up by 6.30am every workday and arrive at the office by 8.45am.... I know... you will be asking isn't this what you should be doing all these years???
- Attend yoga classes at least twice a week. Would like to go for more classes, but have to be realistic :(
- Save 20%... ooops... 15% of my pay every month.... NO EXCUSES!!!!!
- Cook at least once a week.
- Bake at least once a month...Ok, this is going to be the toughest cos up till now I don't even know how to use my oven.........and last but not least.....
- NO BUYING HANDBAGS!
Now... what do you think? Have I set the standards too low? Should I stretch myself further? No need lah kan? Life is about having fun anyway. Like what the trainer of one workshop that I recently attended said.. If you feel like buying new clothes ke, handbags ke, please buy, cos if you die today other prople will enjoy your money... How true! And what will be my bonus if I achieve all of the above? Hmmm hmmm hmmm... this will need to be discussed further. Hehe!
Am signing off.. Would like to continue reading James Patterson's 7th Heaven. As you know, I am a huge fan of Patterson now and am not getting enough of Lindsay Boxer and her Women's Murder Club. I feel like I am one of them now ;p
I have another 2 Patterson books that I haven't read.... *bliss*

Body of Lies & The 5th Horseman
Brought the girls to a birthday party yesterday. It was a really fun party with an animal theme and a bouncy castle. Audrene, of cos, had loads of fun there. The party packs were cool too - got customade stuff with the birthday boy's pix and name. Hehe...am definitely copying that for our future parties!
Some pics from the party:
Today, so far we have been at home, lazying around.... Hujan panas outside.
Movie I'll be watching later:
Body of Lies.. Yeap. Not really my kind of movie. Am too slow to catch what's going on and will always be disturbing my hubby.. Eh apasal? Kenapa? Kenapa? Heard its a great movie, starring 2 great actors - Russel Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio. Will give this a try.
Book I'm reading:
James Patterson's 5th Horseman...Am halfway through this unputdownable book by my current favourite author. This time, there are 2 murders to be solved. Reading thrillers makes me feel a lil scared as they make me realise that there are many psychos and sickos out there. Hopefully I'll finish this book today cos I have another 2 Patterson books to read.
Also, since Audrene's into Transformers now, the movie will be playing on the laptop (over and over again) so this will be our default entertainment. Wooops.. baby's up! Susu time! Have a superb weekend all :)

Australia The Movie
Went to catch Australia just now. Verdict - LOVED IT!
The movie made me cry at least 4 times. No, no, it is not a sad, sappy love story.. It's all in one. There were humour, suspense, action adventure, romance and a little bit of mysticism. The leading casts - Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman - were EXCELLENT. The storyline was captivating. Kept me entertained for approx. 2.5 hours, plus it even made me feel a lil sad when it ended.
I urge everyone to watch this fine, fine movie. You will enjoy every minute of it. However, be prepared to get teary-eyed and red-nosed. But, naah, don't worry, you won't be the only one. While I quietly and shy-ly sniffed and wiped away my tears, I heard a number of sobs from other audiences as well. So tak pe, jangan segan2, mari kita nangis beramai2 :p
For synopsis, click here, & remember girls, bring your tissues!
p/s.. Today's my last day working at my current company. I feel a little bit blue... :(

Last Few Days @ Office
This Friday will be my last day servicing my current employer. I joined this organisation in May 2006, and after 2 years and 7 months, I decided to take up a new challenge. Same kinda job - I am in Corporate Communications - but different kind of organisation in a totally different industry. As much as I feel excited, I also feel quite worried. Biasalah, new job. Lots of adjusting to do. Have to make new friends, have to look for a lunch partner, have to find a place to express my milk, have to impress my new boss... macam-macamlah...
But good thing is, before I start my new job, I will have some time off for myself and I plan to spend it to the fullest (ni yg i tak sabar2 ni sebenarnya.. the cuti part..hehe). Definitely will be hitting the gym as often as I can. Need to trim my figure (esp my pinggang) and also hope to be able to look great - rosy cheek and all - for my new job. I also hope to be able to hang out with some friends and catch up. Haven't been doing much of that lately. And of course, I need to do some shopping as well since there's Mega Sale everywhere (yippee!).
So I have another 2 days to kill. I will start packing my stuff tomorrow (sob!sob!). And hmmm... probably I need to draft a good-bye note to my colleagues.. Nak hantar ke? Tengoklah nanti. I'm just like Audrene, I'm sooo not into goodbyes. Furthermore, my new office is just around the corner hence makes it silly pulak to send a farewell email.
Eh, alamak..Dah 9.40pm!! I missed my favourite show - 90210... aaaargghhh!!! Adios!! Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives pasni!

I've Been Robbed!
Crap! For the first time ever - after using the cleaning services for 2.5 years - I have been robbed!!! Geramnya!!
What was stolen? My double star neclace that I bought from H&M during my trip to Hamburg last year. The pretty neclace was on my coffee table. I forgot to keep it after Audrene borrowed it and now its gone :(
Tak pe lah, now I know that I have to be EXTRA careful. It must be the one yang cakap banyak tu. Asyik dok kata "saya tak tipu, saya tak tipu" in every sentence... Urgh... memang tipulah!
I hope I won't get the thief as a cleaner again. It is usually these 2 ladies - S&A - but that particular week there was a mix-up in their roster that the agency had to send 2 different ladies. Sorang was bl***y slow (45 minutes in my bathroom.. and senyap aje... buat apa tu??) and the other was this chatterbox. Hmmh...
I am not going to be grumpy about this. It's the weekend and I plan to fill it with happy stuff. So I must, I must, I must go and exercise... I am in need of the endorphin rush! That will be later this afternoon. Now, I am going back to settling in front of my not-at-all canggih TV and watch my all-time favourite series - Friends - while baca story book!

Body Balance
Grrr.. silly me. I SOOOO wanted to attend the Body Balance** class at the gym this morning (and tayang my new and flashy work out outfit.. heheh) but after waking up early and all the rush to send my 2 half-asleep girls to the nursery, I realised that I forgot to bring my FF card. Ni lah jadinya kalau tukar-tukar handbag nih! Geram betul! I know I can still go in, only need to fill in the form, but I was already running late so I decided to abort the idea and go straight to the office.
I started going to the BB class when I got pregnant earlier this year and I enjoyed it very much. Even if I had a tough week at work (tau la kan, nak melayan2 kerenah orang ni mmg buat I stress), I would still make it a point to wake up early on Saturday and attend the class. I think it helped me a lot in coping with the backaches and cramps during pregnancy. A couple of weeks before I delivered Baby Maira, I stopped going because I became huge and too heavy to move.
Now, after 4 months ++ of not attending the class, I have recently started going back. I feel refreshed, energised and, best of all, my body doesn't ache that much anymore (I have backache). I also attend yoga classes at the gym and am amazed with the flexibility of some of the participants. Mak oii, boleh lipat-lipat badan relaks aje...Tua and tembam pun boleh lipat badan. I yg ehem... ehem.. *muda* ni pun cannot. Now I realise that my body is so unflexible. Can't even touch my toes with the tip of my fingers without bending my knees. My mom says this means there's something wrong with my pinggang... ye ke?
I wonder...when la can I do this?
And this?
The instructor even tried to help lift my back. But, ergh, still cannot. Nak terjatuh-jatuh I. Not that I'm heavy, I am just keras! But although I find some, or ermmmm..most, of the positions quite difficult, I insist on going to the classes. I nak jugak to finally be able to lipat-lipat my badan. Also, I nak jugak reach my main aim that is to be able to fit in my work pants in time for my new job and have the bod of one of my fav instructors.. hehe... no kidding, the lady has 2 kids and her body is very well-toned, kulit pun cantik. I have 23 days to work out so all the best to me!
**BODYBALANCE™ is the Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates workout that builds flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling centered and calm. Controlled breathing, concentration and a carefully structured series of stretches, moves and poses to music create a holistic workout that brings the body into a state of harmony and balance.

Dinner at Empress
Some pics from dinner 2 nights ago (sesi testing hp baru.. hehe):
We went to Empress Cafe at The Curve. I love this place. It serves a wide variety of dishes - from local dishes like nasi lemak, nasi bohari, nasi goreng petai (yummm...) to burgers, gourmet pizzas and an assortment of pastas. So far, everything I've ordered are great. Yummy appetizers and desserts too.
Pasta with clam (can't remember the name of the dish).. sedap!
My order for the night...aglio shrimp... ada spicy sikit:
Nasi ambon (I think) with daging, sambal...sorry... can't remember the name of this dish too (oh boy, is this the sign of old age?):
Baby Maira pun ikut. She slept soundly on daddy throughout the outing and gave us adults a chance to enjoy the meal :)

Happy Birthday To Me!
It's my birthday today - I'm 33!
So far, I've had 2 birthday celebrations - lunch with my colleagues (soon to be ex-colleagues...bummer) and dinner with my family last night (thanks, y'all). Pix and story about the dinner have been posted by my darling sis. Click here.
Tonight, will further celebrate with my hubby, brother Eja, and wifey Auntie Mai. Location : tbc - alah, mesti Curve or One U ni...mana lagi :)
In the spirit of my birthday, I'd like to recap what I've accomplished during this past year...Note: NOT in any particular order....*wink*
- Gave birth to the beautiful, healthy (n drooling) Baby Maira
- Bought a "new arrival" all-leather Coach handbag for half the price (ehem... accomplishment being buying it for 50% less)
- Did not buy a single make-up....Whoa! How did I pull this off?? Hope I was not a little uglier than usual!
- Bought only 4 pairs of shoes for myself (really?? Let me recount.....1..2..3..and 4! eh ye la!)
- Signed up for Fitness First (People, I am SERIOUSLY proud of this!)
- Overcame my fear of WAXING...My legs are smooth and silky now :p
- And finally... Got meself a new job... Hurray!!!!
Ofcourse, I also have a few regrets:
- Hired and fired a young, lying and ungrateful maid who ate like there's no tomorrow
- Still have not mastered how to operate my oven (I hereby promise myself... I will learn how to bake during my 2-week break)
- Bought this particular breastpump which is not user friendly
- Permed my hair!!! Should have gone for rebonding! Huaaaa!
However, all-in-all, I had a great year. I had a wonderful pregnancy, smooth delivery and a most enjoyable 2-month maternity leave. Oh oh oh... hubby's on the way back already. Gotto go get ready to celebrate my birthday :)

When Audrene Goes Shopping
Here's a photo of Audrene when she went shopping for her birthday gift from me (this was a couple of weeks back..baru upload gambar). Note the RM10 she's holding :) - Nak beli Barbie Diamond Castle "yang besar"!
She was also lucky that day cos real-life Princess Liyana was there.. But shy Ms Audrene didn't want to take a pix with the Princess and as Mummy was struggling with a bouncy Baby Maira...tak pe lah.. next time :p

Glued to Patterson
I'm on to my next read -
I've just finished Judge & Jury and I enjoyed every page of the thriller... A must-read, a page-turner indeed. Now, I'm going to indulge myself in the Women's Club Mystery series No. 4 and I know I'll enjoy it too.
Mmmm..... Don't you just love weekends?

Burn After Reading
Those who are in lurve with Brad Pitt MUST watch this movie:
Big stars sure act like darn fools in this black comedy! It is about 2 gym workers who stumble upon a CD that contains memoirs of an ex-CIA agent and try to gain $$ out of it. Brad Pitt stars as one of the gym workers. I have seen ALL movies by Brad Pitt and never have I seen him in a role like this... So moronic! Same goes to Clooney!
The other gym worker, played by Frances McDormand, plans to spend the $$ they thought they could squeeze out of the agent on PLASTIC SURGERY. How pathetic is that? Haha, this movie will bring you on a roller coaster of emotions that will have you laughing one second and gasping in shock in the next. Do watch it - I totally recommend!
Who would have thought that a movie on a funeral could be dead funny? This movie kept me laughing from start to the end. It's British. I don't usually watch British movies, but this I like.
Ok, need to get back to my book since Baby Maira's fast asleep & Audrene's busy with her new jigsaw puzzle. Another 20 pages to go!

Should I?
I want this *quite* badly:
I saw this bag advertised in an online shopping site a couple of weeks back & have drooled at the pix ever since. I think it's stylish, big enuff for me to dump Baby Maira's diapers, clothes, towel, n, most important of all, I think it will look pretty good on me ;)
However, one thing about me is - I don't feel comfortable shopping online. I don't shop online. Esp for things like clothes, handbags... Ni semua I kena try try dulu. So a few days ago, while I was lazying around at Starbucks, I saw a mom about my height, with a stroller n a baby n THIS DREAM BAG OF MINE! I was soooooo excited and tempted to rush to her and ask if she would let me try it. Nak, tak nak, nak, tak nak..After about 5 minutes of toying the idea in my head I decided to abort the idea...Malu lah.. And, nanti orang ingat I kookoo, or worst, nak rompak dia pulak!
So this morning, I have decided to check out the price. Manalah tahu, within budget ke. I've sent an email & am now waiting patiently for the reply.
Please please please... cheap cheap cheap ... *praying*

Yummy Saturday
Had a really grand day yesterday. What did we do? We ate & ate! Where did we go? TGIF of course!
These are among the yummy dishes that we had (I am posting these pix because I know my lil sis will drool at 'em):
Also had the grilled lamb but the photo's not available. Later that night, we went out again for dinner. As we have never explored the newest Giant nearby, we decided to go there and boy was I excited to find Wendy's, JCo & Starbucks there!
I had the most delicious shrimp burger (but a bit small lah, not enough for breastfeeding mummy like me). And right before we left, got myself a FREE glaced donut from JCo. Ain't that great?! I LOVE free stuff! Thanks, JCo... That really made my day!
p/s... because I ate so much yesterday, today its just rice, soupy vege and fish with longans for dessert... sedap jugak... :)

Happy Birthday Audrene & Good Job Maira!
It's Audrene's 4th birthday today. 4 years ago today I push push and out came 4kg-Audrene ;). Here's a picture of her taken last week after her ballet class (which she enjoys very much!).
Something wonderful also happened late last night... Maira turned by herself!! I woke up and saw her lying on her tummy.. Great job, Maira. She's turning 4 months in 5 days. Here's a picture of Maira taken during Hari Raya (Oct 2008).
I have two little angels... I'm blessed...

What Next?
Since all scheduled excitements have passed, I need to get myself a new event for me to work on... What ya? Maybe a trip to the cinema with Audrene & 3 of her friends for Bolt? Hmm... Chewy? What do you think? Nak join?
I'm half-way through this thriller. My verdict - a must for all thriller addicts.
My next read is:
I need to finish these two books fast cos both are borrowed from my office's library.. Yup, the resource centre at my office carries story books too. Isn't this cool? This is definitely one of the few great things that I'll miss when I switch workplace in January :(

Audrene's 4th Birthday Party - A Blast!
Yes!!! We have successfully organised Audrene's 4th Birthday Party last night. By looking at the kids and their parents, the party was a blast. Thanks a bundle to Chewy, Uncle Eja, Uncle Awish, Auntie Mai, Tok Mak and Tok for all their help :)
There were about 40 kids at the party and they were entertained by Mr Clown. Audrene was extra excited last night (sampai tak makan, tak mandi & tak sikat rambut!) because her best-est friends from the nursery also came, along with the kakaks. This is their first social event, and boy, were they excited!
Audrene was also a good host. Everytime kawan sampai, she will greet at the door and invite the friend in. Kawan-kawan pun malu sekejap aje, lepas tu main and lari2 satu rumah. Mr Clown was also great. He made fun balloons for the kids and kept them laughing all night with funny jokes.
Each kid brought home 1 party pack each. Hope they liked the stickers, chocolates, cookies, lollypops, Twisties and magic wands :) We definitely can't wait to organise another party, or maybe other parents would like to have one for their kid? We would love to attend. Jangan lupa jemput kita!

Esok Party!! Yay! Yay!
Audrene's party is tomorrow and I did one last head count - mak oii - 54 adults and 51 kids - betul ke nih??? I guess some may not turn up as it is the raining season now but whatever it is I need to prepare enough stuff... esp the party packs! Now I have 40 sets so tomorrow I need to go to One Utama the first thing in the morning and get some more goodies. Wow, organising a birthday party is not easy!
The tent people are coming in early morning. At noon, the cleaners will come in to clean up the house and help reorganise the furniture. Then later, the uncles and aunties will blow up the balloons and decorate the house. And then of couse, the party packs to pack. Wee hee... tak sabar!
Ooops dah past 9pm and we haven't had our dinner.. Malam ni maggi mee aje lah.. Hehe!

Checklist
I am soooo excited! I have been planning this for at least a month, and yay - it is just another day away! And I am not alone. I bet my hubby, my sister, my mom and the rest of my family are excited too. Ok, ok, what am I so excited about? What am I planning? Ha ha... Our event of the year - Audrene's 4th Birthday Bash!
As requested by the birthday girl, the theme is "Princess". Hence I have bought all things pink and "princessy". The invitation cards, the party packs, the banners... I have also bought her a tiara, a pink feather boa and a fluffy, feathery wand to wear during the party, with the dress that Tok and Tok Mak bought. The birthday girl's girlfriends will also get a little magic wand each. To ensure the little guests are well entertained, I have also booked a clown ... Awww... I hope it will be a blast!
Final checklist before Saturday... This is really to remind myself :
1. Call the mommies
2. Double confirm with the caterer - food and canopy
3. Buy more Twisties
4. Buy more lollypops
5. Buy more party hats
6. Buy more snacks - peanuts, potato chips
7. Probably add more satay - need to do another round of head count
Hmmm... what else what else?

Not so exciting day...
Okay, tomorrow is a little bit far cos I notice that I already have a follower...Yippee! Don't want to disappoint Mr Grammatical Error... *wink*wink*
I attended a boring meeting just now. Haven't been in a looong meeting with weird people for quite a while. One guy had this habit of leaving his mouth wide open and there was a lady who scratched her tapak kaki halfway through the meeting.. Boy..Did I find that distracting? Yeah-haaa! I was waiting and hoping for a good excuse to go out from the meeting room but unfortunately nothing came up so I stayed on for ...urgh... 4 hours!
I think this will be the last meeting that I'll be attending on behalf of my current office. This is because I have resigned and am joining another organisation in January. This is one of my current excitements. Another major excitement is ofcourse Audrene's birthday party this Saturday. BTW, I have 2 little girls - Audrene & Maira. Will write more on this... Now, I need to go home..Hubby's waiting!
